Five people missing in a boat accident last Thursday in Tian'e County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, were said to have no chance for survival,local police sources said Tuesday.

At around 3:00 on the afternoon of Dec. 22, a boat with 12 people aboard capsized in the rapids of the turbulent Honghui River at the Tian'e section. So far, seven people have been rescued, while the remaining five, including one male and four female, washed away by the rapids.

Rescuers fail to retrieve those missing despite six days of hard efforts, and they are confirmed to have no chance to survive.
