A coach collided with a train Friday noon in southwest China's Guizhou Province, injuring 31 people aboard the bus, with five seriously injured, local authorities said.
The accident took place at about 12:28 when the coach was passing a railway-highway crossing Dushan County, but a speedy train came suddenly out of a tunnel and bumped into the coach in the tail, according to the Guizhou Provincial Administration of Production Safety.
A total of 47 people were aboard the coach when the collision happened and all the injured people have been rushed to local hospital, sources said.
The coach came from southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
The accident also triggered a three-hour suspension of railway traffic. Investigation into the cause is underway.
