A freight train derailed in central China's Hunan Province on Monday morning, but no casualty was reported.
The derailment affected transportation on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, one of the trunk lines of the country, local sources said on Tuesday.
At 7:00 AM Monday, a freight train at Jiedong Station, a small station to the north of Chenzhou City in Hunan Province, went out of control and four cars of the train derailed.
Some passenger trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway were delayed because of the accident. The No. T29 passenger train from Beijing to Guangzhou was delayed for about nine hours.
Normal operation of the railway resumed on Monday afternoon, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
