More than 200 passengers were stranded on buses due to heavy snow in Fuyun County of Altay Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, local police said Friday.

 

No injuries were reported, the police said.

 

Strong wind swept over Fuyun County since Thursday night, rolling up snow that obstructed traffic on the section of the No. 216 national highway in Fuyun County. Seven passenger buses carrying over 200 passengers were stranded on the road.

 

Rescuers have been dispatched to the scene and began clearing up snow on the road at Friday noon.
