Hong Kong was selected as the overall winner of "Asian City of the Future 2005/6" in a competition organized by fDi Magazine, which is under the Financial Times Business group, said Hong Kong government Friday.
The influential magazine in the investment world invited more than 60 cities and regions to participate in the competition. The panel of judges was comprised of fDi's editorial team and business executives based in the Asia Pacific region.
Hong Kong was leading in 4 of 7 categories, which included best transport, best telecommunications, best quality of life and best direct investment potential.
"It is a great result for Hong Kong and we are particularly encouraged,"said Mike Rowse, the director-general of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong.
