Heilongjiang Colliery Cave-in Traps 9 Miners

Nine miners were trapped Thursday in a coal mine cave-in in Hegang, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, according to the provincial administration of work safety.

The accident occurred at about 9:00 AM at Xing'an Coal Mine, run by the Hegang branch of the Longmei Mining Group.

Rescue operation is going on.

Hegang is a coal-rich city in the northeastern part of Heilongjiang province.

In another development, rescue operation continued Thursday, 14 days after a coal mine flooding trapped 56 miners in Xinjing Coal Mine in Zuoyun County in northern province of Shanxi.
