A conflagration that broke out Thursday evening at a farm chemical plant in Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province, was quenched at about 01:00 AM Friday.
The fire broke out at about 09:00 PMThursday at the Ningbo farm chemical plant in downtown areas of the city. Some dangerous chemicals were stored in the plant, the city's fire brigade said.
As of 11:00 PM, the fire ravaged more than 10,000 square meters in the plant. Dense black smoke with pungent smell was spreading to nearby places.
Nineteen fire engines were used to extinguish the fire. Fire fighters said they had controlled the fire from spreading shortly after small hours and quenched it at around 01:00 AM.
The smoke from the fire was gone with the wind and no obvious pollution was made to the city, eyewitnesses said.
No casualty has been reported.
