The death toll from a fire in a children's clothes store in east China's Zhejiang Province has risen to 15 people and one person is still missing.
Rescuers recovered one more body on Friday morning and are still searching for the missing person in the five-storey Fuyin Mansion at Zhili Town of Huzhou City, said Cheng Yongli, head of the provincial fire-fighting unit.
Built in 2001, the Fuyin Mansion sells children's clothing. The bottom three floors of the building stock a large collection of garments, the fourth floor contains the storehouse and the employee dormitory and the fifth floor houses 18 people who are all family members of the building's owner, according to Cheng.
Police are trying to find out the cause of the fire and identify the dead, he said.
The blaze broke out at about 4:30 AM on Thursday. Two people were rescued and nearly 100 firemen spent more than six hours putting out the fire.
The provincial public security department has told the local government to carry out safety checks on fire control in public places, such as hotels, shopping centers and schools.
