Eight people were killed and another five were injured in a traffic accident in southwest China's Guizhou Province, according to local sources.
The accident occurred at 17:30 PM Sunday in the Jinzhong Township of Weining Autonomous County of Yi, Hui and Miao Ethnic Minorities, where a truck loaded with cattle, registered in the Chongqing Municipality, bumped into a passenger motor-tricycle.
The road condition and how many people were on board in each vehicle are unknown yet.
The five injured were rushed to hospital.
Cause of the accident was under investigation.
Traffic accident is one of the major killers in China. In 2005 the Ministry of Public Security reported more than 90,000 people killed by traffic accidents, accounting for about one-fifth of the total traffic accident fatalities in the world.
