Visitors to east China's Huangshan, or Yellow Mountain, will soon be able to hire an electronic tourist guide to aid their exploration of the scenic mountain resort.

When this electronic tourist guide is put into use, the national park's administrative office say, tourists will be able to use the earphones attached to listen, in many different languages, for guidance on the route of their ventures, and for introductions to scenic spots.

The content recorded in the electronic device is unified by the park, concentrating on introducing Huangshan as a UNESCO Word Natural and Cultural Heritage and World Geopark.

The park administration also hopes the wide use of the electronic tourist guide could change the currently-clamorous situation along the mountain route caused by tour guides shouting to their clients to herd them up. Many tourists have complained that this has reduced the quality of their travel in Huangshan.

Huangshan National Park, located in east China's Anhui Province, is a world natural and cultural heritage site. Huangshan, or Yellow Mountain, is a holy mountain sacred to the Chinese. Every Chinese seeks to climb it at least once during their lifetime.

The rental fee for the electronic guide is 20 yuan, or US$2.5.
