Twenty people have died and five are missing after rains triggered floods and landslides in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local government officials said on Friday.

Floods, landslides and rock-mud occurred throughout the county from Monday to Thursday, according to the provincial civil affairs department.

About 3,000 people were evacuated and almost 900,000 were affected by the continuous downpours.

A landslide buried three villagers at around 1:30 PM on Friday in Yun County. One has been rescued and taken to hospital while more than 60 rescuers are still searching the other two.

Floods, hail and rock-mud flows have left at least 170 dead and 10 missing in Yunnan this summer.

The provincial meteorological station has forecast the rainy weather will end on Saturday.

More than 800 Chinese are dead or missing after natural disasters this year.
