Protesters in Taiwan wearing red T-shirts held a candlelight vigil in Taipei on Sunday evening to express opposition against the island's leader, Chen Shui-bian.
Shih Ming-teh, former chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), joined the protest at 8 PM, saying that the red T-shirted protesters had opened a new leaf for the anti-corruption campaign in Taiwan.
A protest attended by hundreds of thousands of Taiwanese took place on the same day last year after some of Chen Shui-bian's family members were implicated in a series of scandals.
