Two separate road collisions involving two buses and two trucks have left five people dead and 23 others injured in central China's Henan Province and southern Guangdong Province, according to local authorities.
A bus bumped into a truck on a highway in Linying County, Luohe City in Henan at about 7:20 AM on Sunday, killing four people and injuring 14 others, Linying police said on Monday.
Initial investigations show that the bus veered into the truck's lane because ther road was slippery after rain, police said.
The injured people are being treated at two hospitals in Linying.
In another accident, a bus collided with a truck on a highway in Renhua County, Shaoguan City in Guangdong at about 3 PM on Sunday, Shaoguan police said.
Ten people aboard the bus were injured and one of them died after emergency treatment failed, police said.
The other nine people are being treated at two different hospitals in Shaoguan, and all are in stable condition, police said.
Investigations into the causes of the collisions have been under way.
