The list of candidates for Taiwan's coming leadership election was announced on Friday, local media in Taipei reported.

Frank Hsieh, former head of Taiwan's Executive Yuan from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), and his running mate Su Tseng-chang, will compete for Taiwan's next leadership with Ma Ying-jeou, former Taiwan's Kuomintang (KMT) party chairman, and Vincent Siew.

The election will begin on March 22. Campaign activities, which will start from Saturday, are to be held from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
