The collapse of an almost completed bridge in central China's Henan Province killed 10 people and injured two Thursday afternoon.
The 46 meter (151 feet) bridge in a small town in Henan's Neixiang County collapsed at about 2:00 pm while workers were removing the scaffolding from under the bridge. At that time, two of the five bridge arches caved in, throwing more than 10 workers to the ground.
A rescue team rushed to the site immediately after the accident and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
The local public security department has taken four people into custody and is looking into the cause of the accident.
