Rescue workers on Thursday saved four of the seven miners who had been trapped beneath a coal mine in Baishui County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, since a water leakage on Monday.
One of the rescued was in fair condition, while the other three are in critical condition and under emergency treatment, said local sources.
A search for the remaining three trapped miners is still going on.
The water leakage occurred around 10 am Monday when workers of the township-run Fengjiahe Coal Mine in Baishui County set off explosives for mining at the platform near the mine's eastern passage.
Twenty-two miners were working in the mine when the accident took place, but 15 escaped danger.
After the accident, local authorities, along with personnel sent by the Shaanxi Provincial Bureau for Supervision of Security in Coal Mines, rushed to the site to organize rescue operations.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
