A team from the local fire department won the 500 meters straight course race at an international police dragon boat race in Tianjin on Saturday.

The international dragon boat race along the Haihe river in the northern Chinese port city was the first such race in the world that is designated solely to police teams.

Participating teams in the international race were from 10 countries and regions.

The race was jointly organized by the Tianjin municipal public security bureau, sports bureau and the China Dragon Boat Association.

Tianjin had hosted three international university dragon boat races.
