Chinese police seized over 50 kilograms of drugs in southwest China's Yunnan Province during the just-concluded May Day holiday, local police said Saturday.

A total of 58 suspects involved in 50 trafficking cases were captured in the week-long holiday.

Local police said they greatly strengthened the frontier inspection in the period in a bid to stop those drug traffickers who attempted to pass themselves off as tourists, as many travelers swarmed to the border area during the golden travel week
