Ten recent works by mainland directors, including the film "The Gua Sha Treatment," will be screened at a film festival in Hong Kong that opened Tuesday.
The Chinese Film Panorama 2001 festival gives Hong Kong audiences and filmmakers an opportunity to learn more about the Chinese film industry through forums and meet-the-audience sessions.
One forum will focus on China's development of a commercial film industry.
Some of the movies highlighted at the festival are "Purple Sunset" , the last film in director Feng Xiaoning's "War and Peace" series, and "Who Cares" by comedy director Huang Jianxin, whose previous works were well-received by Hong Kong film buffs.
