The China Anti-cult Association released a statement yesterday condemning the murder committed by a practitioner of the notorious Falun Gong cult, headed by Li Hongzhi.
The statement came during the association's first national symposium in Beijing to discuss the theory and practice involved in the fight against cults.
The murder occurred on November 25.
Fu Yibin, a 46-year-old Falun Gong follower, ruthlessly killed his father and wife, and badly injured his mother in downtown Beijing.
The Falun Gong cult uses evil fallacies to control its followers' minds with the aim of doing severe harm to society and bringing tragedy to many individuals and their families, according to the statement.
Statistics show that more than 1,700 people have died from the cult's mental control.
