Shenzhen Party Official Sentenced to 12 Years in Jail
Feng Jinzao, former deputy secretary-general of the Communist Party of China Shenzhen municipal committee, was sentenced to 12 years in jail Thursday for taking bribes and preventing others from testifying in his case.

Feng, 55, also former head of the municipal party committee's policy research department, also had the 250,000 yuan he took in bribes confiscated by the Shenzhen intermediate people's court at the first trial.

A court investigation revealed that Feng was given the money by two people identified as Liu and Jiang. In return, he helped them obtain illegal benefits.

He was also found guilty of colluding with the pair while on parole in an attempt to have them present false witness in his favor.
