China is willing to continue efforts with all sides to make the Iraqi problem solved justly and properly, Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan said Monday.
Tang made the remark while talking over phone with Jack Straw, British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs. The two exchanged views on the Sino-British relations and the Iraqi issue.
Recently, the Sino-British relations have seen smooth development in exchanges and cooperation, said Tang, adding that the exchange of visits between the leaders from both sides will further boost the development of bilateral ties.
Both Tang and Straw extended the wish to exchange visit at proper time.
Addressing the Iraqi issue, Tang pointed out that the negotiations within the United Nations Security Council have stepped into a crucial phase and the reasonable concerns of all sides should be taken into account.
It is of vital importance for the five members of the UN Security Council to reach consensus on this issue, added Tang.
Straw agreed with Tang on this point, hoping to strengthen the negotiations and cooperation in the Iraqi issue and other international affairs between the two countries.
