Li Ruihuan, head of China's top advisory body, left Singapore for Beijing Friday morning, winding up his three-nation Asia-Pacific tour, which also includes Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
During his visit in Singapore, Li, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Singaporean President S.R. Nathan, Singaporean Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong, Senior Minster Lee Kuan Yew and Parliamentary Speaker Tan Soo Khoon.
The leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations as well as international and regional affairs of mutual concern and reached extensive consensus.
Li's entourage, including Secretary-General of the CPPCC National Committee Zheng Wantong, left aboard the same plane.
The Chinese delegation was seen off at the airport by Singaporean Minister of State for National Development & Communications and Information Technology John Chen, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Zhang Jiuhuan as well as staff of the Chinese Embassy and representatives from Chinese enterprises in Singapore.
