Foreign Victims of Tuesday's Air Crash Confirmed

Officials of a special investigation panel Thursday released a list of the foreign passengers aboard the ill-fated MD-82 passenger plane that crashed Tuesday night off Dalian, a port city of northeast China's Liaoning Province. The list was made according to the passengers' registration at the booking office.

They include three Japanese passengers -- Yonemqru/Chiyori, female, Imoto/Kosuke and Magai/Jqji.

Also listed are Kim/Seong Woo from the Republic of Korea, Koley/ Rajkumar from India, Chong/Yew Keong from Singapore and Laurence/ Farget, a female from France.

The crashed CJ6136, carrying 103 passengers and nine crew members, plunged into Dalian Bay less than 10 kilometers (6.215 miles) from the coast at around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, shortly after the pilot reported a fire in the cabin.

The airliner took off at Beijing International Airport at 8:37 p.m. and was scheduled to land at Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport at 9:40 p.m.
