Raidi, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Regional People's Congress, met in Lhasa Wednesday with a delegation headed by Robert Denis, vice president of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium.
Raidi said when he visited Belgium earlier this year, he found many people there were very interested in Tibet, but unfortunately knew little about it. The delegation's visit would increase their mutual understanding.
He briefed the guests on Tibet's development, saying with the central government's favorable policies, Tibet recorded an economic development rate of 12 percent last year, higher than the national average.
Denis described Tibet as a beautiful place and said he was glad to visit it.
