A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Friday urged members of the Party School to study the newly-published Selected Works of Jiang Zemin in the new semester.
Jiang's works would be the priority study topic of the school's autumn semester, included in both teaching plans and research activities, said Zeng Qinghong, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau.
Zeng, president of the top Party academy, said at the opening of the autumn semester that the recently-concluded campaign in keeping the Party's progressive nature had been fruitful, providing valuable experience for future Party construction.
The Selected Works of Jiang Zemin was the best textbook for the Party to strengthen ideological and theoretical constructions, said Zeng, noting that the study of the works must be combined with other major strategic thoughts including the scientific view of development.
He also urged the members to raise their sense of responsibility and improve their standards during their studies at the school.
About 1,400 members of the CPC will study during the autumn semester at the Party school.
The Selected Works of Jiang Zemin, former chief of the CPC Central Committee, compiled by the Party Literature Editing Committee, has been released across the country. They mainly consist of Jiang's major works from the late 1980s through the early period of the 21st Century.
