The State Council has named Ji Yunshi as the new vice-minister of personnel and head of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and Ge Huayong as the new Executive Director for China for the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Ji, born in Sept. 1945, is a native of Haimen, east China's Jiangsu Province. He studied physics at Shandong University between 1964 and 1969. He previously served as governor of Hebei province.
A bulletin issued by the State Council said that Wan Xueyuan has been removed from his post as vice-minister of personnel and head of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. It also said Wang Xiaoyi has been removed from the post of Executive Director for China at the IMF. The bulletin did not provide any details as to why the two officials have been removed from their posts.
