China Awards Habitation Environment Prizes

The Ministry of Construction on January 7 issued two prizes: habitation environment prize and a model prize for habitation environment. Shenzhen and other 4 cities included, altogether some 28 items for air quality and environment pollution were selected.

The two prizes will be awarded once a year, it is to be decided by the Ministry of Construction by way of soliciting recommendation from various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.

Personal with the construction ministry said that the two prizes aim to honor cities, counties or companies who have made great contributions in improving environment quality, overall functions of cities and creating good habitation environment.

It is also for promoting sustained development and improving people's inhabitation environment.
