Nearly 10 million Chinese cosmeticians will receive on-the-job-training (OJT) after they complete their professional training, an official from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security said Monday.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Health have jointly launched the "China International Cosmetology Education Network" to provide ongoing training for China's cosmeticians, both on-line and in classroom.
Statistics shows that China now has more than 1.2 million beauty parlors, with some 10 million cosmeticians, and an annual turnover of 24 billion yuan (about US$2.9 billion). Beauty therapy has become one of the country's fastest developing service industries.
The training will offer advanced courses in technology, beauty theoretical knowledge and techniques for cosmeticians. Those who qualify will be awarded additional certificates.
