A sparkling newly-upgraded Arrivals Duty Free pavilion in the pre-immigration hall of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has started services to the passengers, HKIA said Tuesday.
The expanded retail complex has six outlets: two free duty outlets with an international selection of wines, spirits and tobacco; two specialty boutiques offering general merchandise including cosmetics, electronics, cameras and travel accessories; a Starbucks coffee shop for passengers wanting to unwind after the long journey and a Travelex foreign exchange dealer.
According to HKIA, the Arrivals Duty Free outlets are the latest passenger facilities upgraded in the arrivals level at HKIA, and the renovation aims at turning the Arrivals Hall into a more popular and attractive place for meeters and greeters, as well as the arriving and departing passengers.
"Arrivals Duty Free offers services and convenience for arriving passengers in a number of ways," Airport Authority Commercial Director Hans Bakker said, "Passengers could shop in a relaxed manner in our expanded duty free shops and I'm sure there are always something passengers could buy for their loved ones who are waiting just less than 100 meters away."
