A website displaying the outcome of theoretical researches concerning issue relating to women in western China will be launched during the traditional Chinese New Year, the Spring Festival, which falls Saturday.
The website is sponsored by the Seminar on Women's Marriage and the Family, located in northwestern Shaanxi Province.
The website, www.westwomen.org, will cover topics including "rural community development", "legal assistance", and "domestic violence" and "women's hotline".
The seminar, founded in the 1980s, is one of the country's most active non-governmental women's organizations.
The organization has set up China's first provincial-level hotline for research on the equality between the men and women and well-being for women as well as a special domestic violence hotline.
