Pupils wait for a class in open air in the quake-striken area of Bachu County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, March 3.
The quake, registered 6.8 on the Richter scale, hit Xinjiang's Bachu and Jiashi counties Feb. 24, leaving 268 people dead and more than 2,000 others injured. The schools in the quake-striken areas have resumed classes with the help of the regional government.
