Artists of the Yi and Wa ethnic groups from Yunnan Province -- the most ethnically diverse in China -- demonstrate their unique folk traditions. Connecticut College's Dance Department has been instrumental in developing the presentation and preservation of ethnic cultures in Yunnan China through the China Yunnan/Mekong Project, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation.
