Celebrated tenor Luciano Pavarotti has postponed his Saturday's Hong Kong concert until Wednesday, June 27, because his promoter and long time friend has been taken ill, local newspaper reported Wednesday.
Pavarotti, 65, will arrive in Hong Kong on June 25, after his Three Tenors concert in Beijing.
A promoter's statement Tuesday night said the producer of the Hong Kong concert, Tibor Rudas, had developed a serious ear infection confining him to bed at home in Italy.
During the Hong Kong concert, Pavarotti will be joined by soprano Carmela Remigio in arias and duets from Tosca, La Bosca, La Boheme, Madam Butterfly, Cavalleria Rusticana and The Merry Widow.
It will be the first time he has performed here since 1990.
