The Chinese government sent a team to the United States to buy as many as 36 Boeing aircraft worth about US$2 billion for five Chinese carriers, Bloomberg News reported.
Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines Corp., the nation's No. 3 carrier, plans to buy at least four Boeing 737-700s, while Shanghai Airlines Co. wants to purchase one 767-300 aircraft in addition to two smaller planes.
