Under the theme of "letting stone carving tell the world there is a Qingtian County in China", the 2001 China (Qingtian) Stone Carving Festival will be held this October in Qingtian, east China's Zhejiang Province. the news was released at a press conference held by the Qingtian County Government Wednesday.
Long been famous for being "China's Hometown of Stone Carving", Qingtian has a history of more than 3,000 years in the art of stone carving.
Various coloful activities, including exhibition and auction on quality stone carvings of Qingtian, the inauguration ceremony of the Qingtian Stone Carving City , forum on stone carving, exhibition on calligraphies and paintings of famous Chinese masters and export commodity fair, are expected to be held during the festival, which is scheduled to open on Oct. 8.
