Beijing Protects Residents’ Safety with High-Tech Alarms

Beijing residents will likely start removing the anti-theft metal bars outside their windows as a high-tech security alarm system has proved successful.

The system, which was developed by the municipal Bureau of Public Security, passed an appraisal by experts Thursday in Beijing.

The new high-tech security alarm system is expected to replace the unsightly metal bars outside the windows and burglar-proof doors.

Interphones will enable residents to recognize visitors. An electronic patrol system will help security guards keep night watch more effectively. An anti-breaking in alarm system will immediately inform the police once it detects intruders.

Nearly 1,000 housing estates have already installed the security alarm system, markedly reducing the crime rate.
