In a fresh move to further ties with Chinese school, Airbus China Co., Ltd. Sunday donated money and some aviation books to a local elementary school.
"As far as we concerned, many Chinese students like aircraft and expect to be pilots one day in the future. We are willing to help them realize their dreams," said Guy Mcleod, president of Airbus China.
He said the company can use training facilities such as simulators to give students the real sense of being pilots. The company will also offer them aviation lectures by experts.
Cai Bing, principal of the Second Elementary School of Guanghua Road thanked Airbus' efforts to support China's education development and announced Mcleod to be the honorary headmaster of the school.
Airbus has been seeking closer cooperation with Chinese schools over the past few years. The multinational helped the Tianjin Aviation College build a technological information library in 1996. It also donated to set up scholarships in the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in May this year.
