Rare Frescos Discovered in North China

Archaeologists have discovered some rare frescos when unearthing an ancient tomb in the Ih Ju League, in the southwestern part of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The frescos, completed during the Yuan dynasty (1271-1368), are located in Jungar Banner in the Ih Ju League. Although the tombs had been robbed, some exquisite frescos remain with high artistic drawings on the walls.

Judging from the seal and caption on the paintings, the experts presume that this tomb was built in 1327 during the Yuan Dynasty.

The mural pictures are vivid portraits of spirits, ladies and animals, which are quite rare and helpful for related research, according to experts.
