The new school, which was based on the former Central Educational Institute of Judicial Police Officers, will remain under the direct governance of the Ministry of Justice.

The college will be a base for training police officers for reform-through-labor institutions and prisons, and for studying theories on prison administration and the reform of inmates.

The 10-year-old school has 260 full-time and part-time teachers,including 140 professors and associate professors, and 5,000 students.
