Typhoon Imbudo Kills 12 in Southern China


The latest statistics showed that typhoon Imbudo had killed 12 people and caused 499.6 million yuan (US$60.2 million) of losses in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The havoc of Imbudo in Guangxi diminished Friday.

Affected by the typhoon, most areas of Guangxi including the cities of Yulin, Beihai, Qinzhou, Fangchenggang, Guigang and Nanning suffered heavy rainfalls.

According to official figures, the lives of some 3.95 million people in Guangxi had been affected, and 130 livestock died due to the typhoon. Some 4,950 houses collapsed and 116,000 hectares of crops were ruined.

Disaster relief is still under way.
