Three more bodies were found Saturday at the site of Monday's fireworks plant explosion in Xinji City, north China's Hebei Province, bringing the death toll to 32.
The bodies were found when police were cleaning up rubble and debris after 18 tons of leftover gunpowder in the devastated fireworks plant were ignited Friday.
A joint investigation team consisting of officials from the State Administration of Work Safety, the Ministry of Public Security and Hebei Province was also established Saturday to further probe the explosion, which also injured 91 people.
A previous investigation found that the explosion at Guoxi Fireworks Plant was caused by the heat-induced ignition of gunpowder that was being dried under the sun.
