China Philharmonic Orchestra Launches European Tour

The China Philharmonic Orchestra has been gaining fans in beautiful Paris. Performance on the morning of September 17 marks the beginning of something great, the orchestra's European tour.

Performance on September 17 was the first ever at the Paris State Opera House by a Chinese orchestra. The performance was conducted by renowned Chinese conductor, Yu Long. Among various selections performed by the China Philharmonic Orchestra was The Moon Reflected Over Two Springs, a piece rich in Chinese musical elements. Also on tap was the No.4 Symphony by Krzystof Penderecki, as well as The Song of the Earth by Gustav Mahler.

At the end of the concert, noted composer Krzystof Penderecki ascended the stage to express his congratulations on the successful performance.

After their tour in Paris, the China Philharmonic Orchestra will go on to perform in Warsaw, Poland and Vienna, Austria.
