The 10th civil airport in southwest China's Yunnan Province has been completed and will operate on March 25 after two years' construction.
Costing a total 380 million yuan, Lincang Airport is situated in the southwest part of the province, nearly 1,900 meters above sea level and can accommodate two Boeing 737s on its apron.

The southwest part of the province is particularly noted for its gushing rivers and high-rising mountains, and therefore hosts a serious giant hydropower stations.
Completion of the airport is also expected to help boom tourism in the area, as the region is home to the Va ethnic minority.
