Daniel Wu

Wu Yin-jo was born in San Francisco in 1974. He majored in Architecture in university. After his graduation in 1997, he was discovered whilst traveling in HK and began modeling part-time. 

 

Wu is a martial arts enthusiast, and has trained in martial arts since his childhood. After Wu met Jackie Chan, he was introduced to his agent Willie Chan and soon embarked on a career in film.

 

Wu's first film role was in Yon Fan's Bishonen, and he also participated in City of Glass and Beijing Rocks both directed by Mable Cheung. Subsequently, he appeared a number of high-grossing blockbusters, including Gorgeous, Gen X Cops, Purple Storm, and 2000 AD.

 

In 2001, he once again collaborated with director Yon Fan in Peony Pavilion adapted from the novel of the same name. Wu's chiseled good looks and his serious attitude have secured him a unique place within a new generation of onscreen leading men. Wu's film credits also include Young and Dangerous, The Prequel, Headlines, Cop on a Mission, Hit Team, Born Wild, Princess D, Love Undercover, The Peeping and Beauty and The Breast.
