CHENGDU
Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone
 

Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as state-level deveopment zone in February 2000. The zone now has a developed area of 10.25 square kilometers.

 

Geographical Location
Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone (CETDZ) lies 13.6 kilometers east of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province and the hub of transportation and communication in southwest China.

Climate
Chengdu has a sub-tropical monsoon climate, with distinct four seasons and plenty of rainfall. The annual average temperature measures 16.6 centigrade.

Communication and Transportation
CETDZ is 28 kilometers away from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, one of the country's four major airports. Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway is on its north, and Chengdu-Kunming Railway on the west. Cheng-Long Highway, the City-ring Expressway, and Chenghuan Highway run through and around the zone. One can directly reach Chongqing Jiulong Harbor and Luzhou International Freight Dock by Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway.

Industrial Structure
CETDZ focuses on machinery, electronics, metallurgy, building materials, medicine, and food processing.

Investment Priorities
Machinery, automobile, motorcycles, electronics, optical products, informational technology, new materials, environmental protection, bio-medicine, food processing, new building materials, refined chemistry, aviation and space industry, and infrastructure building.
