A new air route linking Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, with Seoul of the Republic of Korea went into operation Monday when a China Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 aircraft took off from Chengdu at 9 p.m.
There will be two return flights between the two cities weekly. The two return flights will be on Tuesdays and Saturdays, respectively, during the April 21 to October 27 period, sources said.
At present, Chengdu has opened five international air routes.
