The 2001 China Hotel Chain Development Strategy International Seminar opened Monday in Shanghai.

Hundreds of managers, specialists and scholars from world- famous hotels and hotel management schools will focus on the theme of China hotels' chain and globalization development strategy.

Insiders say that Beijing's winning the bid of 2008 Olympic Games has put a new stimulant into China's tourism globalization strategy, which includes hotel development as a vital participant.

The four-day seminar is jointly hosted by the China Tourist Hotels Association, Shanghai Tourism Industry Association Hotel Chapter, Florida International University, International Hotel and Restaurant Association.
