The First Urumqi Silk Road International Fashion Fair was inaugurated in this capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Saturday.

Almost 250 local and overseas fashion manufacturers have brought their products, in over 1,000 different styles, to the exhibition.

In the five-day event, a series of fashion shows and art performances will be held with the participation of local and foreign models.

The visitors will also be able to enjoy evening parties and horse races performed by local people of different ethnic groups.
