City to Divert International Flights to Pudong

The city will move all international flights from the Hongqiao Airport to the Pudong International Airport by December,Shanghai Morning Post reported today.

Flights to Hong Kong SAR and Macao will also be moved from west to the east of the city.

The Hongqiao Airport will mainly handle domestic flights in the future while maintain a capacity to deal with extra international flights,officials with the East China Civil Flights Administrative Bureau said.

Detailed schedule for the project is still under discussion.
